“Take Heart”

With Valentine’s Day just about here with all of its hearts, flowers, and chocolates, how can I not talk about LOVE.  Ah, yes—LOVE.

Two heartfelt reminders keep popping up for me:

❤️”Take Heart, ” as in,  be strong and hopeful in the midst of “it all”  and

❤️ “The Serenity Prayer” by Reinhold Niebuhr—

                  God grant me

the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

courage to change the things I can and

                            wisdom to know the difference.

Okey.  I’m going to give it my loving best!

And to you, dear readers, I wish you a lovely and loving Valentine’s Day❤️❣️

A Few Tidbits for You

Here are some food items I have loved of late…

🧀Two cheese ideas:

⭐️ A grilled cheese sandwich on sour dough bread with Brie cheese, sliced apples and fig jam—yum!

⭐️ Baked Brie in a Twine ceramic baking dish…just add some fun crackers and you have one easy and tasty appetizer!

📙 A unique book: Menus—A Book for Your Meals and Memories by Jacques Pepin (2017).  This colorful book was created to record favorite meals, menus, and names of guests.  Each two-page spread has illustrated borders and images (by Jacques Pepin) with plenty of space for writing in the menu (or recipes) and names of companions and whatever else may have inspired you about a meal.  For example, I just used a spread as a  mini food-travel summary of a recent trip to Los Osos with friends.

And ending on a sweet note, did you know that Pantone’s Color of the Year is Mocha Mousse?  A warm, brown tone reminiscent of chocolate, cocoa, coffee.  Warm, earthy, comforting and no calories.  YES!

P.S. A few images of “Take Heart” collages and vintage Valentine’s Day cards are posted in the “Gallery,” should you wish to take a peek.
